Designed to improve member experience and departmental efficiency
Renovated to improve departmental efficiency, member experience, and long-term operational flexibility within an occupied facility.
The LAPFCU Van Nuys Headquarters renovation is a comprehensive modernization of the Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union’s main headquarters in Los Angeles. As the institution’s central administrative and member-service hub, the project improves departmental efficiency, enhances member experience, and supports long-term operational flexibility within an occupied facility.
The project involved a comprehensive interior renovation and restack across approximately 25,600 SF, optimizing workflow and realigning departments within the existing building footprint without increasing square footage or height.
On the first floor, the scope included a full remodel of Branch 101, upgrades to existing men’s and women’s restrooms, addition of a new all-gender accessible restroom, reconfiguration of the CSU and Loan Offices, conversion of a portion of the branch into a new IT/Business Solutions office and huddle room, and renovation of the Mortgage Office including a two-hour rated file room. On the second floor, the existing multi-purpose suite was transformed into a new Contact Center with integrated huddle space, along with renovations to Card Services, the boardroom, kitchenette, coffee/break area, and restroom upgrades.
Additional improvements extended to key administrative and member-service areas including Mortgage, Lending & Collections, Accounting, Administration, and a Multi-Purpose Room. The work included atrium skylight modifications, expanded office areas, accessibility upgrades, and reorganization of underutilized spaces, supported by full engineering coordination across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural systems, and Title 24 compliance to ensure integrated building performance.
Delivered within an active headquarters environment, the renovation demonstrates RACAIA’s ability to execute complex financial facility upgrades through careful planning, technical coordination, and disciplined implementation while maintaining uninterrupted operations.
RACAIA provided full architectural services from schematic design through construction observation, developing revised space plans, detailed documentation, and coordinated finish and furniture selections. Engineering coordination addressed HVAC capacity, electrical distribution, plumbing reconfiguration, structural adjustments, and Title 24 compliance to ensure integrated system performance.
Delivered within an occupied headquarters setting, the renovation demonstrates RACAIA’s ability to execute complex, phased financial facility upgrades with technical precision and operational continuity.
